Recently the news has come out, regarding the Air India it has now launched a basic fare on the selected domestic route which provides flexibility to travelers to select their own fare. At first the complementary means were included in the ticket price right now that has now bifurcated.
The meals are no longer included in the ticket price and hence passenger have the flexibility to pay less, although passengers will be provided tea or coffee as per their preferences. Air India is considered as the low-cost airlines even on the domestic flight.
This is the major move made by Tata group owned airline this move has been made in order to provide passengers with different choices so that they can add services as per their convenience. Well, the facility of new fair is only available in selected domestic roots in economic class. This has been basically tailor for those people who travel with a certain conscious budget.
Under the basics fare the travelers will receive 15 kg checked baggage allowance 7 kg cabin baggage allowance complementary tea or coffee. It is provided that the meals will not be included in the ticket price passengers who want the facility of meal can pre-book mails up to 24 hours before departure of the flight. Available main options include vegetarian non vegetarian Jain and diabetic meals.
According to Air India this facility of basic fare is entirely optional. “The introduction of basic fare simply adds another layer of choice particularly for price conscious travelers who prefer a more a bundled offering”. Air India has also clarified the doubt regarding if passenger books a meal within ticket and somehow later on move to another flight what will happen to the schedule meal.

According to the airline, meals which are pre-book will automatically be transferred to another new flight if by any chance the mails cannot be provided to the traveler the certain amount will be refunded to that passenger. Messenger have the facility to book the basic fare through air India’s website, Air India mobile contact Centre and airport ticketing offices.
