Dario Amodei once said that AI will wipe of millions of jobs. He refused to change his mind and said that the time has finally getting closer. During one interview when Anthropic’s CEO was asked about this controversial statement he claimed and didn’t even finch and said, “I don’t know exactly but I am still pretty concerned I am still the same order of concern”.

Anthropic now valued near a trillion dollars and a lot of its services are used by people. He also pointed towards the software engineering and said AI now right nearly all code at anthropic however engineers are still considered as most productive not redundant. “We have already started to see the beginning of like they are maybe some people that it is not making more productive that it’s better for AI to do judge the thing” he said.

As per the researchers lord currently covers around 33% of task in the computer and math category and in case of theory it covers almost 94% however there is no reported unemployment among the most AI exposed workers. The Yale budget lab also found no macroeconomic effect from AI on labor or worker through late 2025.

Jensen Huang considered this AI lay off narrative as completed nonsense and argued that productivity gains which push firms to hire more engineers not fewer. However, Amodei continuous to advocate for proactive measures including strong Ai oversight investment and worker retraining programs and policies designed to ensure that the economic games generated by AI are distributed more broadly across society.

He has been giving repeated warnings highlighting a growing divide within the technology industry between those who view AI primarily as an engine of innovation and those who fear its potential in social and economic phase.
