Growing Pakistani Satellite Network Raises Strategic Questions for India

As per many sources, it has been found that Pakistani Satellite are observing Indian territory. As per experts this is not an innocent coincidence.

It has been observed that since past 16 months Pakistan satellite has been accumulating of a constellation of spy satellite to monitor Indian territory. It has been a year since Indian Pakistan agreed for a ceasefire after operations in the world but even after that a clever strategy has been opted by Pakistan to monitor Indian territory up from the sky by using their satellites.

According to many reports during the period of January 2025 to 2026, 6 Earth observation satellite has been launched by Pakistan all placed in sun-synchronous orbits, that makes it apt for spying. Apart from India, the satellite is also keeping check on other territories and other countries including Afghanistan China Iran and northern Indian Ocean.

According to experts be satellites are keeping clothes watch on India’s strategic movement beyond is borders. The significant thing about this satellite is that it can track military moment with remarkable clarity. Experts are predicting that the sudden increment in Pakistan space program with support of China may not be just a harmless coincidence there can be something dangerous behind this.

According to Sudhir Pillai who is a former flag officer of Indian Navy commented that emergence of this constellation of satellite which has happened to have military application on the side is not a coincidence. He also added him a post that between January 2025 and April 2025, SUPRACO place roughly half a doesn’t satellite into orbit. That place represents a structural discontinuity not an incremental program update.

On 14th January 2025, the Pakistan space agency launched PAUSAT-1- an Earth observation 16U cubeSat-on board space X’s Falcon9 rocket. This particular satellite was placed in Sun synchronous low Earth orbit (SSO), Airtel altitude of 513 km and an inclination of 97.4 degrees.

Just after 3 days of this satellite launch the country also launch another Earth- observation satellite, PRSC-EO1(Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite-Earth observation 1). Both missions took place 3 months prior to Pahalgam attack and 3 months prior of India’s operation Sindoor.

Even after these launches Pakistan did not stop and has launched three more missions. Apart from this mission one common thing that has been found out is that all the satellites have been place in an orbit that allows them to pass at same time roughly at same location.

This really helps in comparability of image and detect changes, if any, on the ground. According to many findings Pakistani satellite has been focusing majorly on Kashmir area.

According to many experts the satellites have been accumulated mainly for agriculture disaster management and for telecommunication purposes, but the intention of rivalry cannot be ignored. A former official of Indian space research organization who has been regularly tracking Chinese and Pakistani face programs commented that over fast few years the space efforts and the mission both countries contribute have been increasing and it has been complementing one another pretty well.

You also said that these programs are bad by information sharing. Official even mentioned that Chinese satellites monitor Indian territory more than India ever as each of Indian territories in under strict surveillance by China.

The official also added about the open-source material pointed to China Pakistan partnership during operations in the world. Most of the space program by China has been secretly operated and really possessed the advance capability to observe Earth observation in the world.
