₹370 Biryani Row: Gurugram Firm Fires Himanshu Jangra, Faces Backlash Online

A clip has been going viral all over the internet, where a stand-up comedian is having a conversation with one of his audiences it was more of like crowd work. The stand-up comedian’s name is Pranit, and he was engaging with one of his audiences named Himanshu Jangra at 23-year-old web developer from Gurugram.

Recently it has been reported that Himanshu Jangra has lost his job after the controversial statement he passed during the comedy show which went viral. After the clip went viral, he faced a lot of backlashes many outrageous comments were made. It was a proper case how online action can really have consequences in offline life.

What actually happened during the stand-up comedy, was that he went on a date with a girl and he spent rupees 370 for a plate of chicken biryani. He also mentioned that he wanted something in return for 370rs. According to clip he also said that women asked him to drop her home, but he wanted to recover what he had spent, people really find this cheap and consider it as something very characterless.

Since this online clip went viral and gained a lot of attention. Social media users identified that Himanshu was working in Gurugram based design in branding firm Starvik design. Founder Vivek Vishwakarma said since incident has happened many people has called him, sent him messages and emailed to him. Many people mailed him to fire him from work.

This clip from comedian Pranit more stand-up show has ignited as social media controversy which drew lot of attention from influencers and online users. Regarding this clip famous influencer Dolly Singh called out male comedians and content creators to take account ability for such inappropriate action. She also mentioned that if comedians themselves can act as mature, open minded, women respecting please try to have same performative act at crowd work too.

Content creator Kusha Kapila also reacted to the controversy, and she called out this behavior as disgusting and creepy. She also encouraged women to drag and call out the nonsense strongly. She Also mentioned that creating such type of content is a choice and doing such type of comedy is a choice she also considered this as something designed to get a reaction.

 She also commented that she would Order biryani from her own money. Meanwhile Praneet issued his apology on Instagram addressing the comments and backlash he is facing regarding the viral clip he commented that he should have challenge the remarks of audience instead of laughing and moving on that was his lack of judgement.
