On June 10 us has confirmed that it has disabled one oil tanker in the post of Oman. According to Central command of us military it acted against the Guinea-Bissau flagged MT Jalveer as it attempted to transport oil from Iran. It said, “A US aircraft fire to Hellfire missiles into ships engine room after the crew repeatedly fail to comply with directions from US forces.”

This week Jalveer was the third commercial ship that was disabled and attack by American forces. Earlier today it has been reported that three Indian sailors are reported missing after us military attacked on the tanker MT settebellow. During that time Indian authorities were monitoring a fresh Maritime incident of the Omani coast.

Since June 8 Monday 2026 there have been 3 incidents reported in the Gulf of Oman. All three tankers were attacked UN disabled by us military as they were not complying with the conditions. Second incident happened on June 11 which also left 3 Indians dead.

The three deceased person aboard on MT Jalveer were Aditya Sharma engine fitter Shivanand Chaurasia and chief engineer Suresh. On Twitter shipping minister Sarbananda Sonowal considered this incident as deeply unfortunate, and he also mentioned that arrangements are being made in order to bring back the bodies of deceased and rescued members.

He wrote “it is deeply unfortunate to learn of the tragic incident about the Palau flag MT settebello. Sadly 3 Indian seefarers Chali reported missing are now confirm dead after bodies have been initially located and identified”.

“This is a profound lost to our Maritime family. the Modi government stands firmly with the bereaves during the difficult hour and is fully committed to supporting the next of kin”. The minister said officials had been directed to ensure the immediate repatriation of the survivors and return of the body for final rites.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal also acknowledged the attacks and passed a statement ” we have seen several incidents involving Indian seafarers in West Asia over the last few days. We attach the highest importance to the welfare and wellbeing of our sea faring community, and there is no need to re-emphasize this point. Yesterday we condemned the attack on a ship of the cost of Oman in which unfortunately 3 Indian national lost their lives.

“We had someone the US charge to register a strong protest. The continuing attacks must seize, and we reiterate are call for dialogue and diplomacy to ensure an early return to peace and stability in region”.
