As protests and rallies were staged nationwide to express sympathy with the Kashmiri people, Pakistan’s military and civilian leadership reiterated their unwavering support for them on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

As the nation commemorated “Kashmir Solidarity Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the Assembly of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) in Muzaffarabad that the resolutions of the UNSC and the wishes of the Kashmiri people are the key to resolving the Jammu-Kashmir conflict.

He had come to support ”our brothers in Kashmir on behalf of the Pakistani people and the Pakistani leadership,” Mr. Shehbaz declared.

He declared, “Kashmir will join Pakistan.”

The Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh “was, is, and shall forever” remain an essential part of India, the government has consistently assured Pakistan. Mr. Shehbaz said that the Kashmir dispute was diplomatically reignited with full force following the four-day confrontation between India and Pakistan in May 2025.

After that, he focused on the rise in terrorism, claiming that “India is now intensifying terrorism through proxies.”

“Equality and justice are the foundations upon which this peace can be built,” he stated.

Kashmir was designated as Pakistan’s “jugular vein” by its founder, M. A. Jinnah, according to Mr. Shehbaz, and this designation now serves as the cornerstone of the nation’s foreign policy.

In addition to mentioning the names of Yasin Malik, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the late separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani, the deceased terrorist Burhan Wani, other activists, journalists, and women, including Asiya Andrabi, he connected Kashmir with Palestine in his speech.

Pakistan’s unwavering moral, diplomatic, and political support for the Kashmiri people was reaffirmed by President Asif Ali Zardari.

In a statement, the Army claimed that Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Defense Forces, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu had reiterated their “unwavering support” for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan’s “unwavering political, moral, and diplomatic support” for the people of Jammu & Kashmir was reaffirmed by Field Marshal Munir during his visit to Muzaffarabad, the statement stated.

Additionally, he went to a forward post and spoke with soldiers there. He reaffirmed that “any act of aggression would be instantaneously met with a swift and befitting response” .

In the meantime, lectures, rallies, and protests took place all over Pakistan. At 10 a.m., a one minute silence was also observed nationwide, according to state run Radio Pakistan.

Shehbaz connected the problems in Palestine and Kashmir to what he called fights for justice and self-determination in his speech.

He brought up a number of individuals connected to militant and separatist activities, such as Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik, Syed Ali Geelani, and Burhan Wani. He also included women like Asiya Andrabi, journalists, and activists.

As he identified the figures, the audience erupted in cheers and chants.

To commemorate Kashmir Solidarity Day, rallies, protests, and seminars were held all over Pakistan.

In remembrance of those who had died in the fighting, a one minute silence was held at 10 am, according to state run Radio Pakistan.

Major cities hosted public rallies when attendees waved posters and banners demonstrating their support for Kashmir.
