The Indian consulate in Atlanta reported that one of the victims of a shooting event in the US state of Georgia that was connected to a purported family quarrel was an Indian national.
According to local media, three children were inside the Lawrenceville city home when the shooting occurred early on Friday morning, leaving four people dead.
In an expression of sorrow over the incident, the Indian Consulate General in Atlanta stated that the suspected gunman has been taken into custody and that the grieving family is receiving all available support.

The suspect was identified as Atlanta resident Vijay Kumar, 51. Gwinnett County police have named the victims as Kumar’s wife Meemu Dogra, 43, Gourav Kumar, 33, Nidhi Chander, 37, and Harish Chander, 38.
According to the article, the defendant was charged with four charges of aggravated assault, four counts of felony murder, four counts of malice murder, one case of first-degree cruelty to children, and two instances of third-degree cruelty to children.
Around 2:30 a.m. (local time) on Friday, the police were called to the 1000 block of Brook Ivy Court. According to the report, when police arrived, they found the dead of four adults inside the house who had all died from gunshot wounds.
Three kids were there when the gunfire started, according to police. The kids huddled in a closet to keep themselves safe.
According to detectives, one of the kids was able to dial 911 and provide vital information that enabled police to be on the site in a matter of minutes. A family member has since picked up the kids, who were uninjured.
Who is Vijay Kumar?
Vijay Kumar, the suspect, was born in Atlanta. He went to the Brook Ivy Court residence of his relatives, Gourav, Nidhi, and Harish, with his wife, Meemu Dogra, and their 12-year-old son. They allegedly got into a fight that turned violent, and Vijay killed his wife and three family members.

What led to the shooting?
The couple got into an argument in their Atlanta home, which police described as a family issue. Once they arrived at their relatives’ home, the argument turned violent. Gourav, Nidhi, and Harish, their families, and their two seven- and nine-year-old children resided on Brook Ivy Court.

When they arrived on the scene, they discovered four dead victims. According to the report, all had died from gunshot wounds. There are currently no unidentified suspects.
