The Tata Punch facelift features redesigned exteriors. The front features an updated bumper, new LED projector headlamps, and a smaller LED DRL. You receive a fresh design for the alloy wheels, but the side profile remains the same. In comparison to the previous generation, the connected LED taillamp at the back is now sleeker.

Internal improvements of the Tata Punch facelift include a sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen screen, and a redesigned two-spoke steering wheel that resembles those of the Nexon, Tiago, and other models.

In terms of features, it has a computerized instrument cluster, multiple driving modes, automated climate control, a 360-degree parking camera, and more.

There are two engine options available for the Tata Punch facelift. A six-speed manual transmission and a brand-new 1.2L inline three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 118 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque are included.

It still has a 1.2L inline three-cylinder NA petrol engine with 87 horsepower and 117 Nm of torque, which is mated to either an AMT or a six-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, it has an AMT transmission and a CNG option.

In a crash test against a truck, the Tata Punch facelift demonstrated strict safety validation, robust structural integrity, and dependable passenger protection in harsh circumstances.

The business has now taken things a step further with the Punch redesign, after the recent launch of the Tata Sierra SUV and a crash test involving two Sierras.

The brand’s emphasis on thorough safety certification was highlighted by this test, which entailed a direct collision between the upgraded Punch and a Tata truck. The video shows how the updated Punch functions in such harsh circumstances, providing information on its structural soundness and capacity to protect passengers.

A caramel-finished Tata Punch is shown in the crash test film being ready for assessment. After the systems were set up and test dummies were meticulously placed and calibrated, the SUV was driven straight into a stationary truck. Although the precise type is yet unknown, the vehicle looks to be a Tata LPT (Long Platform vehicle).

In the video, four dummies two adults and two children are inside the truck as the Punch hits it head-on at 50 km/h. The airbags quickly deployed upon impact, guaranteeing the safety of the occupants. The truck was forced to roll slightly rearward in the impact, but most of the deformation was absorbed by the Punch’s bonnet.

Crucially, the passenger compartment revealed no signs of degradation, and the cabin structure stayed intact. Tata attested to the fact that all doors unlocked and opened following the collision and that the restraint systems performed as planned.

The company claims that in terms of restraint performance, occupant protection, and structural strength, the outcomes surpassed expectations. Tata stressed that the test was carried out to highlight its responsibilities for real-world safety rather than only to demonstrate capacity.

The business hopes to guarantee that the Punch makeover provides protection and confidence for common road situations by mimicking such harsh conditions.
