The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2025 results were made public by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday. To download the results, candidates can go to the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The highest cut-off scores for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) were 248 for candidates in the unreserved category in Prakrit, 244 in the Buddhist and Jaina subject, and 240 in the French version. NTA reports that 5,141 candidates were eligible for JRF, 59,821 for Assistant Professor, and 117,058 for PhD only.

Candidates can view the cut-off scores for JRF, Assistant Professor, and PhD only in the PDF sheet that was uploaded with the results. Over the course of six days, 85 subjects took the computer-based UGC NET December 2025 exam.

Between December 31, 2025, and January 7, 2026, the test was administered in 11 shifts at 663 testing locations in 283 cities nationwide. 9,93,702 applicants in all submitted applications for the test.

7,35,614 of the registered applicants took the test. Official data indicates that 5,108 applicants were deemed successful for the Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship posts. While 17,058 candidates are only qualified for PhD admission, 54,713 individuals have been determined to be eligible for both PhD and assistant professor admission.

Out of all the applicants, there were the most female candidates. 5,85,400 female candidates, or 58.91 percent of the total, registered. There were 4,08,245 male applicants, or 41.08 percent of the total, and 57 applicants from the third gender group.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) posted the question papers, preliminary answer keys, and candidates’ recorded responses on its website between January 14 and January 17, 2026, in order to guarantee transparency in the exam evaluation process.
