The Railway Recruitment Board has now finally announced a major update for candidates appearing in the Group D Exam 2025 under CEN 08/2024.
The RRB has issued the city-intimation slip, which is popularly known as the exam city slip, which informs all the candidates about their allotted exam city, date and shift.
This slip is meant to help students plan their travel and stay in advance, especially for those who are being assigned to cities far from their hometown.
However, it does not contain the exact exam centre name or address.
That information will only be available on the official admit card.
The admit card, which is also widely referred to as the hall ticket, is also expected to be released approximately four days before each approaching candidate’s scheduled exam date.
This document will also contain various data like the candidate’s name, photograph, roll number, reporting time, exam centre address and important instructions for exam day.
Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with their valid photo ID to the exam centre. Without these, the entry of the candidate will not be permitted.
The Group D exam will also be conducted as a Computer-Based Test across multiple shifts and dates, with lakhs of candidates who are expected to participate.
Level 1 posts under this notification include various posts like Track Maintainer, Helper, Assistant, Pointsman and various other technical and non-technical roles in the Indian Railways.
The exam duration is typically 90 minutes, with various formats of questions covering various topics: general science, mathematics, reasoning and general awareness. Candidates should also note that there is negative marking for incorrect answers.
To download either the city slip or the admit card, candidates will need their registration number and date of birth.
It is also advisable to check all printed details carefully and even report any kind of discrepancies immediately.
With large numbers of applicants and even the widespread exam centres, early preparation and proper document management will help ensure all the candidates for a smooth and stress-free exam experience.
