Palak Tiwari Discusses Her Acting Journey and Challenges in Bollywood

Palak Tiwari spoke about her acting experience, her patience in the business, and told me that movie sets are like her home where she feels at ease and at home.

The experience of entering into Bollywood has not been about overnight success in Palak Tiwari and has rather been about waiting. The young actor who debuted opposite Salman Khan in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, attributes her greatest asset to patience which has helped her sail through the unpredictabilities of the film industry.

Talking about her early experiences, Palak confessed that not all opportunities she signed resulted in a completed project. She has also experienced delays and stalled films like many newcomers and now she feels this is part and parcel of the profession as opposed to a setback.

How to wait in a volatile industry

The actor stressed that the largest problem that anyone can face when getting into films is the expectations management. She stresses that impatience can be such a menace, and waiting will make the appropriate opportunities come at the appropriate time.

She termed herself as one who has come to be relaxed with the pace of the industry. She does not want to pursue immediate success but rather follows scripts that are of her true interest which she considers a privilege in these competitive times.

Her new vent, a musical thriller called Lukkhe, is likely to demonstrate her acting spectrum even more. Although there is limited information surrounding the project, the comments of Palak show that she is more concerned with gradual expansion and not quick publicity.

‘Movie sets feel like home’

Palak understands where she fits in despite the challenges. She indicates that being in a film set gives her a feeling of belonging which she has not experienced anywhere.

She says that acting is instinctive and a natural thing to do and she was just supposed to do it. A movie set, she said, is like home because according to her, it is the only place she feels entirely comfortable with herself.

This feeling of ease, she feels, is the one that keeps her going even in periods when work is sluggish or there is a delay in projects.

Ramp walk continues to be frightening

Interestingly, on screen, she seems to be very confident but Palak confessed that it is entirely different when she steps onto the ramp. Since she had just attended the Bombay Times Fashion Week, she has explained that modelling demands another form of confidence.

She has explained that she feels intimidated when she is watching professional models as they rehearse, and she has felt how they can do it so easily. To her, performing is a much more homey environment than fashion shows.

The attitude demonstrated by Palak Tiwari is more representative of what many novices in the Bollywood industry face nowadays. The ability to create a sustainable career is frequently time-consuming, flexible, and resilient in view of the growing competition and shifting customer preferences.
