Gold prices in India witnessed a mild recovery on March 8 after facing a sharp fall earlier in the week. The decline in gold rates was linked to rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East following military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran. The conflict created uncertainty in global markets, which impacted bullion prices as well.
During the week, 24 carat gold dropped by nearly Rs 1,19,600 per 100 grams starting from March 2. However, prices stabilised over the weekend as markets reacted to global developments and investors began returning to safe haven assets like gold.
Despite the earlier decline, gold prices have now shown signs of stabilising across major Indian cities. Below are the latest gold rates per gram in several cities.
