On March 2, Apple released the iPhone 17e. The recently released entry level iPhone, a successor to the iPhone 16e, is powered by an upgraded C1X modem and Apple’s A19 CPU.

It has a 12MP TrueDepth camera on the front and a 48MP Fusion camera on the back. Concurrently, Beats, a company owned by Apple, introduced the iPhone 17e cases in Bedrock Blue and Lime Stone that are compatible with MagSafe for wireless charging.

In comparison, the iPhone 16e was launched in three storage configurations:

  • 128GB: Rs 59,900
  • 256GB: Rs 69,900
  • 512GB: Rs 89,900

The iPhone 17e does not have a 128GB storage option, although both of the higher variants are now less expensive than the previous model.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 17e will open in India on March 4 at 7:45 PM (IST). The iPhone 17e will go on sale on March 11.

With a six-core CPU, a four-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and a 16-core Neural Engine for on device Apple Intelligence, the iPhone 17e is powered by Apple’s 3nm A19 processor. Additionally, it introduces the C1X modem, which is reportedly up to twice as fast as the iPhone 16e’s C1 modem and more power-efficient, improving battery life.

The tablet features Ceramic Shield 2 glass for enhanced scratch resistance and a 6.1 inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a maximum HDR brightness of 1200 nits.

In addition to adding MagSafe functionality and up to 15W wireless charging via MagSafe and Qi2, it keeps Face ID and the Action button. According to Apple, with a compatible 20W charger, the iPhone 17e may achieve 50% capacity in about 30 minutes.

It has a single 48MP Fusion back camera with 24MP default output, 48MP high-resolution recording, and 12MP 2x optical-quality zoom capability using sensor cropping for photography. Portrait mode allows for post-capture focus adjustment by automatically storing depth data for recognized individuals and pets.

It can record in 4K Dolby Vision at up to 60 frames per second and capture spatial audio. The iPhone 17e has a 12MP TrueDepth camera for taking selfies.

In addition, the iPhone 17e comes with iOS 26, which includes features like Live Translation, Call Screening, and Visual Intelligence, plus satellite services like Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My in places that are supported.
