Amazon Echo Show 11 Launches in India With Large Display and Voice Controls

Amazon has introduced the Echo Show 11 and Echo Show 8 in India almost 3 months after it introduced them to the rest of the world. The new intelligent displays are meant to boost the presence of Amazon in the smart home market and they will have a better performance, more intelligent features, and better audio and video capabilities.

Both the gadgets operate on Amazon-designed silicon. The Echo Show 11 is powered by the AZ3 Pro chip and the Echo Show 8 has the AZ3 processor. These chips provide quicker response, and more customised Alexa experience. The devices have a full HD touchscreen that enables the user to view the feeds of the connected cameras, control smart home devices and easily switch to the various modes of viewing.

Echo Show 11 costs 26,999 rupees in India and is offered in the choice of colours of Glacier White and Graphite. The Echo Show 8 is priced at Rs. 23,999. Both the models are available both on Amazon India as well as on Flipkart. We also have them in the offline shops such as Reliance Digital and Croma nationwide.

Echo Show 11 has a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, and 10.95 inch display, whereas Echo Show 8 has an 8.7 inch display. The Echo Show 11 is full of premium cloths and measures approximately 1.3 kg in weight giving it a heavy and contemporary appearance that can fit the living rooms and kitchens.

Both of the smart displays are powered by the new Amazon operating system, called Vega, and offer a new look of the Alexa home screen. The interface is developed in such a way that it presents valuable information at a glance, reminders, the latest updates of conversations, personalised suggestions, and information that is based on an individual interest. Amazon has however verified that the Alexa Plus service is yet to be released in India.

The Echo Show 11 and Echo Show 8 have a 13 megapixel camera with Visual ID. It has the capability of detecting a user when they get near and automatically present any information of importance. The cameras are also compatible with the devices and can be used with security cameras and video doorbells that allow the users to see live camera feeds on the screen.

Alexa also has built-in voice recognition capabilities so that users can use simple voice commands like Alexa or Hey Alexa to set alarms, create shopping and to do lists, check the weather, sports updates, and even smart home appliances.

Both devices have also been equipped with Amazon new Omnisense sensor platform. These sensors can allow smarter home automation behaviors, including automatic turning on of fans depending on the room temperature, or automatic adjusting of smart blinds. Increased presence detection enables the devices to detect the entrance of a person into a room and react by activating lights or offering useful reminders.

The Echo Show 11 and the Echo Show 8 have improved front facing stereo speakers and a custom woofer to provide entertainment. Both can use spatial audio, which provides an enhanced sound experience when listening to music, podcasts, or watching videos. Another way Amazon has simplified media control centre is through voice commands allowing users to navigate and discover content in the media control centre.

Amazon claims that the new Echo Show models will have multi-layers privacy protection. The device and the Alexa app provide users with physical microphone mute button and camera controls, and voice recordings may be accessed and deleted at any time, providing them with more control over personal data.
