Virat Kohli Addresses Retirement Rumours After Stunning Ton in 1st ODI

Virat Kohli scored a brilliant century in the 1st ODI against South Africa and then clearly said he is not returning to Test cricket. He confirmed he will continue playing only ODI cricket.

Virat Kohli once again showed his class by hitting a superb century in the 1st ODI against South Africa.

He had also scored 135 runs and helped India win the match by 17 runs. 

After such a strong performance, many fans and experts started asking whether he might return to Test cricket.

The rumours grew very quickly because his form looked as good as ever. However, after the match, Kohli put all the talk to rest. He said it very clearly that he has no plans to come back to Test cricket. 

According to him, he is now focusing only on ODIs. Kohli has also explained that at this stage of his career, managing workload and also his speedy recovery is very important.

He has also added that playing one format helps him stay fresh, fit and mentally strong.

Kohli has also said that even though he still enjoys scoring big runs, he wants to give his best in the format he has chosen. 

He has also mentioned that he feels comfortable with his current routine and also wants to continue this way.

His decision also shows that he is thinking long-term about his fitness and also about his performance.

The cricket board officials have also confirmed that they have not discussed any Test comeback with him.

This means the rumours were just assumptions from fans and the media. For now, Kohli’s international journey will continue only in the aspect of ODI cricket, where he still looks in top form.

Fans were excited to see Kohli play such a powerful innings, and many believe that he can continue performing at a high level for a few more years.

His calm reply to all the retirement rumours shows he is very focused, confident and even happy with his current role in the team.
