According to UP Police, a woman in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, committed suicide by hanging herself after being offended by a remark made by her husband. The late Tannu Singh resided in Indiranagar, Lucknow, with her husband, Rahul Srivastava.

The family had returned home on Wednesday night from a relative’s home in Sitapur, according to her sister Anjali. Rahul allegedly called Tannu a “monkey” as they were sitting in a room together after arriving home, which infuriated her and caused her to move into another room.

Rahul, an auto driver, claimed that Tannu had been taunted earlier in the day while he, Tannu, Anjali, and her son Abhay were playing around at home.

He then left to bring dinner. Anjali discovered the door locked from the inside when he came back a short while later and requested her to call Tannu. She screamed when she saw Tannu hanging from a cloth rope through the window after screaming her name without getting a response.

Rahul and the neighbors hurried to the room, smashed the door, freed Tannu from the noose, and brought her to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced her dead. Police took the body into custody and performed a post-mortem after they arrived at the scene. No formal complaint has yet been filed, and the body was subsequently given to the family.

According to family relatives, Tannu wed Rahul approximately four years ago in a love union that was subsequently accepted by both families. They also mentioned Tannu’s passion in modeling and the couple’s lack of children. Tannu was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced her dead, after Rahul and others hurried to the room and smashed the door.
