In order to handle the anticipated influx of devotees prior to the yearly Ratha Saptami celebration at Tirumala, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has declared that the issuance of Sarva Darshan tokens will be suspended for three days. The official announcement states that from January 24 to January 26, Tirupati will not be issuing slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) tokens.

On January 26, tokens for next-day darshan will once again be issued. On January 25, Tirumala will celebrate the Ratha Saptami festival. TTD has put up special notice boards at all relevant token counters to advise pilgrims about the temporary suspension and updated schedule in an effort to prevent confusion among devotees.

One of the most significant celebrations at Tirumala is Ratha Saptami, which commemorates Lord Venkateswara’s ceremonial procession on different vahanas. During this period, the temple has a huge influx of pilgrims, which prompts the administration to put advanced crowd control measures in place.

For a hassle-free pilgrimage to Tirumala, devotees are urged to check darshan timings in advance and adhere to official TTD updates.

For the yearly Ratha Sapthami celebration, which takes place on January 25, the hallowed home of Lord Venkateswara has been decorated in all its splendor. The celebration, known as “Mini Brahmotsavams,” is expected to draw over two lakh devotees to the hill town.

On Thursday, CVSO KV Murali Krishna, EO Anil Kumar Singhal, additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, and TTD chairman BR Naidu examined the festival’s plans. In addition to the Chakrasnanam ceremony on festival day, BR Naidu stated that Lord Malayappa Swamy, accompanied by His celestial consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, shall be carried out in seven separate processions around the four mada lanes surrounding the Tirumala temple.

Surya Prabha vahanam will kick off the series of processions at 5.30 am, followed by Chinna Sesha vahanam, Garuda vahanam, Hanumantha vahanam, Chakrasnanam, Kalpavruksha vahanam, and Sarvabhoopala vahanam. On January 25, the Chandraprabha vahanam will take place at 9 pm.

For the yearly celebration, the temple trust is deploying 1,300 police officers and 1,200 TTD vigilance and security guards to put in place impenetrable security measures. In order to provide food and other necessary refreshments to devotees in the galleries, TTD also intends to set about 85 food counters.

A look at key instructions :

  • Strong security in coordination between TTD Vigilance and district police besides conducting mock drills.
  • Maintain a buffer stock of 5 lakh laddus.
