IndiGo Faces Fourth Day of Cancellations, Delhi Flights Suspended Till 3 PM

IndiGo faced its fourth straight day of flight cancellations as operations in Delhi remained suspended till 3 PM due to severe disruptions. Passengers struggled with delays and last-minute changes as the airline worked to stabilise its schedule.

IndiGo, which is India’s largest airline, have continued to face major disruptions for the fourth day in a row, thereby creating inconvenience for thousands of passengers across the country.

On this day, the situation became even more difficult when all IndiGo flights to and from Delhi were suspended till 3 PM.

The airline had also announced that the suspension was very necessary due to operational challenges and safety concerns. This sudden pause added more pressure to an already stressed travel network, with all the passengers struggling even more to manage their schedules.

The problem began earlier in the week when bad weather and operational delays started affecting several flights.

As the situation grew worse, IndiGo had to cancel and reschedule many flights to control the overall congestion and to maintain the safety standards.

Delhi, being one of the busiest airports in India, have thus faced the biggest impact. The airport witnessed large crowds, long queues and even a crowd of confused passengers waiting for updates about their flights.

IndiGo had also clearly released a statement, that too, explaining that the temporary shutdown was essential to bring stability to their schedule.

According to the airline, the number of aircraft and the crew available were not enough to handle the heavy demand, especially after multiple delays piled up.

The airline also assured passengers that they were trying their best to minimise inconvenience and restore full operations as soon as possible.

Passengers, however, have expressed their frustration as many of them had early morning flights that were cancelled at the last minute.

Some people had also missed their important events, office meetings and even their connecting flights. Social media was also filled with complaints about long waiting hours, lack of timely information and even all the difficulties in rebooking tickets.

Despite all these happenings, some travellers understood the safety-related reasons behind the temporary suspension.

Delhi airport officials had also supported the decision, thus saying that the congestion needed to be controlled before more flights could be allowed.

Weather conditions in the northern region had already caused delays, and letting additional flights operate could have increased the risk of mismanagement.

The focus remained mainly on clearing the backlog of stranded flights and, afterwards, ensuring smooth movement after the suspension was lifted.

IndiGo teams at the airports across the country were also seen helping the passengers with their refunds, rescheduling and even with assistance. Additional staff members were also deployed to manage the rush at help counters and boarding gates.

The airline had also encouraged travellers to check updates through the official customer support channels to avoid any kind of confusion. They had also advised passengers with flexible plans to postpone their travel to avoid heavy congestion.
