Popular Indian travel influencer Anunay Sood has died in Las Vegas under certain circumstances that point directly to a suspected drug overdose.
The 32-year-old content creator was staying at a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip when the police and the emergency responders were called to his room after he was found unresponsive.
According to the preliminary police report, narcotics and a small packet which was containing some white coloured powder weree discovered in the room, thus raising serious concerns of drug misuse.
A woman who had been with Anunay that night reportedly told investigators that she, Anunay and another woman had purchased what they believed to be cocaine from someone on the casino floor.
All three allegedly had consumed the white coloured substance before falling asleep.
When she woke up roughly an hour later, the person, Anunay, did not respond, thus leading her to call for help immediately.
Emergency teams then attempt various kinds of known lifesaving measures, including the process of administering multiple doses of Narcan, even using a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses, and even the aid of performing CPR.
Despite all their efforts, Anunay could not be revived by the emergency teams.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has also stated that the case currently appears to be a medical incident rather than a criminal act, although the investigation will still take place until the drug-related results are completed.
Anunay Sood was a well-known travel content creator with a large following on social media. His videos and photos from around the world earned him a devoted audience, and he was also the one who was frequently featured among top digital creators from India.
His sudden passing has deeply saddened his fans and various influencers, many of whom have expressed shock and grief online.
