L’Oreal, a Swiss beauty company, is considering establishing its first global technology center in Hyderabad. The move can be seen as a significant advancement in digital and artificial intelligence operations of the company in India and the country would be the core of L’Oreal software strategies worldwide.
The ruling indicates the increasing presence of India in spearheading digital innovation in global firms. Reportedly, L’Oreal announced its first special Beauty Tech Hub in Hyderabad following the dialogue of its CEO, Nicolas Hieronimus and top government officials in the Telangana government at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos.
The Hyderabad centre will form the first technology centre of L’Oreal in the world. It will be aimed at the development and deployment of digital and AI-based solutions to the global business of L’Oreal. The primary theoretical fields of work will be data management, artificial intelligence, generative AI and agentic AI. These technologies will be created in Hyderabad and applied in the markets of L’Oreal globally.
Under this collaboration, L’Oreal and Government of Telangana are planning to invest over 3500 crore by 2030. The company would develop approximately 2,000 jobs that deal with technology in the coming years. Jobs of AI specialists, software engineers, data scientists, and other digital experts will be included in these positions, which will be supported by the long-term global technology and services strategy of L’Oreal.
The partnership is regarded as a significant achievement as a part of the 2026 India-France Year of Innovation. L’Oreal stated that the Hyderabad center will not only assist in the provision of technology solutions across the world but also will contribute to the development of the surrounding ecosystem by providing employment opportunities and aiding in the creation of the high-level skills amongst the Indian professionals.
India Tech Hub will join the system of L’Oreal technology and AI centres worldwide. It will collaborate with the already existing hubs in France, United States, China, Singapore, Spain, Poland, Canada, Brazil and Mexico. The Hyderabad centre will serve the world teams by connecting and developing digital tools that are being used in various aspects of the business.
The announcement was greeted with ease by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy who said the alliance promotes the long term vision of the state to grow. He claimed that the venture will assist in the establishment of 2,000 high-quality jobs and that Telangana will be a global center of AI and digital technologies.
L’Oreal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus claimed that the move is based on the solid relationship that the company has with India, where the company has been in operation since 31 years. According to him, L’Oreal is currently leveraging the superior talent technology and AI skills of India to drive its global technological goals, with Hyderabad leading the pack.
The officials of states also reported that the hub aligns well with the promotion of artificial intelligence use in Telangana, including its recently established AI programs.
