Priyanka Chopra had a difficult journey, despite being one of the few Indian celebrities with a significant body of work in Hollywood who is currently well known throughout the world.
At her height, when she was a tremendously popular and well known movie star back home, the actress made the decision to leave Indian cinema. The actor discussed the choice and how difficult it was for her at first in the West in a recent interview.
Priyanka recounted her Western debut, originally as a singer, in an interview with Variety. It’s daunting to start a new career in your 30s. I was safe.
My financial situation was good. I had been established. I decided to blow it up, she added. Around 2015, following the release and popularity of movies like Mary Kom, Bajirao Mastani, and Dil Dhadakne Do, Priyanka relocated to the United States. At the time, she was one of the highest-paid Indian actresses.
Priyanka claimed that when she first started her journey in the West, she encountered preconceptions and misconceptions. Oh, you speak English well, people would say. Every time I entered a room for a meeting, someone had an idea of who I was before I even entered, recounted Priyanka.
The performer, however, stated that she preferred to be a part of borderless entertainment, where she could cross-pollinate with actors from different countries, rather than succumbing to novelty casting.
Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood career
Prior to starring in supporting parts in major motion pictures like Baywatch and The Matrix 4, Priyanka made her acting debut in the West as the lead in the television series Quantico.
She has risen to the position of director of major Hollywood productions, including Citadel, Heads of State, and her next pirate adventure movie, The Bluff, which she is co-starring in alongside Karl Urban. In 2027, Priyanka will return to Indian film with Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli.
Varanasi Priyanka’s comeback to Indian cinema
With her most recent Hindi film, The Sky Is Pink, coming out before to the epidemic, Priyanka’s return to Indian cinema after nearly eight years is marked by the pan Indian film. Alongside Priyanka, Varanasi stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
In April 2027, the movie which is billed as a time traveling adventure with roots in Indian history will be released in theaters.

Priyanka expressed gratitude for her younger self’s perseverance and said that the sacrifices she made in the past are the only reason she is now free to chose projects and establish boundaries.
