TVS Jupiter 110 Gets Costlier, Price Revision Old vs New Price Review

TVS Motor Company has increased the price of the Jupiter 110 scooter by up to ₹3,250 across all variants, making the popular commuter model slightly more expensive for buyers. The revision comes amid rising input costs but the scooter continues to remain a strong contender in the 110 cc segment thanks to its practicality, comfort and fuel efficient performance.

TVS Motor Company has raised the price of its successful Jupiter 110 scooter which makes the commuter model expensive in all its variants. Depending on the trim level, buyers intending to buy the family scooter will now be required to pay an amount of up to 3250 above previous prices.

The current revision is also a subset of a larger price correction exercise by the manufacturer as well as the other two wheelers in its portfolio have been increase in prices. Similar to many other automakers in India, TVS has blamed the recent increases on the input expenses, increase in the cost of raw materials, inflation and exchange rate fluctuations.

The Jupiter 110 still remains one of the strongest sellers of the TVS Motor Company in scooter segment, as it is practical, comfortable and has a strong brand recall amongst the urban and semi urban customers.

Under the new pricing, the base Drum will now be priced at 75,600 ex showroom, as compared to 72,650 previously. The Drum Alloy one is now priced at 79,835 and the Drum SXC trim is priced at 84,000.

Disc SXC model has increased by 3000 rupees and is now retailing at 87750. The Special Edition has undergone the highest increase and is currently priced at Rs88,900 ex showroom, which was earlier priced at 85,650.

The Jupiter 110 is still in the competitive position in the 110cc scooter segment, where it competes with the Honda Activa, Hero Xoom 110 and Hero Destini 110. It is also a practical scooter that can be used in the daily commuting by utilizing a single cylinder engine (110cc) that is tuned to make it perform smoothly and efficiently.

The other features provided by TVS include external fuel filling, long seat, plenty of under-seat storage and optional front disc brake on the higher versions, have been beneficial in ensuring that the Jupiter continues to be popular over the years.

According to industry analysts, the scooter market is stable in its demand and even modest increment in prices does not go a long way to dampen buyer enthusiasm.

But to price sensitive buyers, any little change can have an impact on the time of purchase particularly when it is added to the price of insurance and registration which make the on road price to be even higher.
