Four troops were discovered dead on the scene and eleven others were retrieved with injuries after the Army and police initiated a joint rescue operation right away, according to the officials. The Army car was severely damaged.

Six more wounded troops later passed away from their wounds. Ten soldiers were transported to Udhampur Command Hospital for specialized care, and one injured person is being monitored at Bhaderwah Sub-District Hospital.

To understand the inevitability of the sudden caused accidents, one must has to analyse the structure of the terrain. The Bhaderwah-Chamba axis is not merely a road; it is a lifetime carved into one of the most geologically unstable regions of the world.

It lies in the Outer Himalayas. The rock strata here are often sedimentary and metamorphic, prone to slippage. The terrain is characterised by deep, V-shaped valleys, carved by the tributaries of the Chenab River.
