As President Donald Trump intensifies his efforts to seize control of the semi-autonomous Arctic island that is a part of Denmark, Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen stated late on Tuesday that the island and its people should be ready for everything, without ruling out a U.S. military assault.
While the situation is implausible, Nielsen stated during a press conference that Greenland must be ready because the other side has not ruled out the use of military action, seemingly referring to the United States.

Trump threatened to raise tariffs on eight European nations on Saturday. The penalties would start at 10% on February 1 and increase to 25% on June 1 if an agreement was not struck that would allow the United States to purchase Greenland.
