Uttar Pradesh Expands Cyber Policing to All 75 Districts, Trains 60,000 Officers

Uttar Pradesh has extended the reach of cyber policing to all 75 districts, imparted training to 60,000 policemen and achieved recovery of more than 20 per cent in cases of cyber fraud towards solidifying control over digital crime.

In a statement released by the state government, the chief minister said that UP Police has changed from reactive to proactive and predictive policing, giving public trust and creating fear in criminals.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that more than 60,000 constables are now being trained within the state, along with the establishment of cyber police stations in all 75 districts, 12 Forensic Science Laboratories, and a Forensic University while attending a two-day conference of senior Uttar Pradesh police officers in Lucknow.

The Chief Minister also praised the UP Police’s accomplishments and reforms, saying that Uttar Pradesh has seen a historic transformation in its law-and-order system and public perception during the past eight and a half years.

The Chief Minister outlined advancements in hiring, training, infrastructure, cyber security, forensics, and the Police Commissionerate system while outlining his vision for Smart Policing.

He emphasized citizen-centric reforms, citing the introduction of the police agency system, strengthening emergency response, putting the safety city model into practice, hiring more female police officers, and making steady progress toward predictive policing.

These initiatives have collectively organised the public confidence while tightening its grip on organised and violent crime, Yogi said.

The CM stressed on the implementations of the schemes and the need for adopting best practices, embracing innovation. There should be a firm data collection that centred on citizen welfare, accountability and professionalism.
