CTET February 2026: Registration Opens, Paper-Wise Eligibility Explained

CTET February 2026 registration has started and candidates can now apply online. CBSE has also explained paper wise eligibility for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

CTET February 2026 registration has now officially begun, and candidates who want to become teachers in government or private schools can now also apply online. 

The Central Board of Secondary Education has also released the notification along with full details on eligibility and exam guidelines. 

CTET is one of the most important exams for anyone who is planning to build a career in the area of teaching in India.

CBSE has also clearly explained the paper-wise eligibility for both levels. 

Paper 1 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 5. To apply for this, they must have passed Class 12 and should also have completed or be in the final year of a D.El.Ed or B.El.Ed program. 

Some candidates with a D.Ed. Special Education qualification can also apply. The aim of Paper 1 is to test teaching ability for primary school students.

Paper 2 is mainly for those who want to teach Classes 6 to 8. 

To apply for this level of the exam, candidates must have completed graduation and should also have a B.Ed degree or be in the final year of the program. 

Candidates with a B.El.Ed degree or D.Ed Special Education qualification can also apply for Paper 2. This paper is mainly conducted to check subject knowledge and also the teaching skills for upper primary levels.

The registration process is very simple and fully online. Candidates must visit the official CTET portal, fill the form, upload documents and then pay the stipulated fee. 

They should also check the detailed guidelines to avoid any kind of silly mistakes in the application. Once the form is submitted, candidates can start preparing by following the syllabus and exam pattern.

CTET certificates are also now valid for a lifetime, which makes the exam even more important for teaching careers. With registration now open, candidates should try their best to apply early and start preparing for the February 2026 exam
