Galaxy S26 Ultra to feature bigger battery than S24 Ultra: Everything known so far

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to pack a battery upgrade from its predecessor, boosting endurance and supporting new AI features.

Samsung is also experimenting with new (battery) prototypes of the Galaxy S26 Ultra that could take the capacity further than 5,000 mAh, which the Ultra series had not hit since 2021.

An increased battery would increase the screen-on time and general longevity, particularly since the phone would have advanced AI capabilities, natively running on the hardware.

This power boost is combined with anticipated cooling and efficiency enhancements, which will assist the phone in controlling the amount of energy consumed by the AI and other high-performance hardware.

The battery layout can employ a stacked system, which will allow Samsung to add capacity without necessarily raising the size of the phone.

This would allow the gadget to hold additional energy and maintain the smooth shape that flagship consumers desire.

According to initial reports, Samsung takes power management optimization seriously as a match with new Qualcomm chipsets and personal 3nm in-house innovations, which focus on improving performance without compromising efficiency.

Other characteristics and release date. In addition to the battery, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may be improved with its display and camera systems.

The screen is more likely to be better, as it will be a brighter AMOLED with thinner bezels.

The adjustments of the camera will center on low-light photography and a tight zoom feature, which will make Samsung remain competitive in smartphone imaging.

Samsung is even expanding the Galaxy AI platform to include on-device AI processing and hybrid AI systems to make smartphones smarter and more responsive.

These are updates that comply with the industry trends that focus on integrating AI to enhance user experiences.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra will be released in January 2026, and it will be following an old Samsung tradition of launching a flagship at the beginning of the year.

With certification and additional testing underway, there will be more concrete information available, which will stoke the hype of one of the most important releases made by Samsung.
