The Delhi Police have now officially registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the act of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and even the Explosives Act following an explosion which has been reported near the historic Red Fort.
The incident, which has recently occurred in a high-security zone, has now raised significant concerns about the services of the national security and also the safety of one of India’s most iconic heritage sites.
According to the initial reports, residents and security personnel have also heard a loud blast in the vicinity of the Red Fort, which has thus been prompting an immediate response from the Delhi Police, the bomb disposal units, and from the forensic experts.
Investigators have since then have recovered varied materials which have been suspected to be explosive in nature, which have been sent for forensic analysis.
The case has now been handed over to the Special Cell of Delhi Police, which have been specialized in the force of anti-terror operations.
The FIR under the UAPA also indicates the possibility of a terror-related motive behind the explosion.
Senior officials have also stated that all angles, thus, including sabotage, local mischief, and organised terror plots are now being examined thoroughly.
Security forces around the Red Fort and nearby areas has also been tightened recently, with the additional deployment of all the paramilitary forces.
Authorities have also reviewed surveillance footage from the surrounding region to trace any kind of suspicious activity that have happened before the blast.
While no casualties have been reported so far, the explosion has also now sparked the discussions about security preparedness in the region of Delhi’s heritage and public areas.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has also sought a detailed report from the Delhi Police regarding the sequence of events and even the preliminary findings.
As several investigations continue, the authorities have now urged citizens to remain pretty calm and also to cooperate with law enforcement.
The Red Fort explosion also now stands as a fair reminder of the persistent threats to the aspects of public safety and even the importance of the constant vigilance in high-security areas.
