It was a normal Thursday afternoon in Dallas, suddenly transformed into a brutal incident because of a massive explosion in an apartment building. The flames of fire were so huge that it was noticeable from afar. The apartment named “The Clyde” in north Oak cliff, Dallas caught a huge fire, and many people were reported to be injured.
This horrible incident really shook people to their core. The average Thursday suddenly turned into a saddening one.
As per officials, around three people including women and a child lost their lives in this massive incident. The rescuing team are still searching for more people who were residing in the apartment.
The incident reportedly took place around 12.45 pm. Thankfully, the call was made on time to Dallas fire-rescue team, and they got information regarding the gas leak in the apartment. No matter how, the blast took place before the rescue team could even arrive. DFR Assistant chief James Russ mentioned that the department reverted within two minutes.
After such massive explosion, the building turned into a volcano and situation became sensitive. More than 100 firefighters and 40 rescue units appeared in the premises of the apartment and rushed inside the building to save the victims. Many people were already injured before rescue team could arrive but even after that rescue teams were successfully able to save numerous people. More than 20 fire departments and 115 emergency responders were there in the scene by 5pm-6pm.
Authorities are assuming that a construction crew which was working just beside the apartment may have accidently damaged the gas pipeline, though the actual reason behind is still hidden. The national transportation safety board is also sending a team to search and investigate the actual reason behind such burst.
Dallas fire rescuer got moved by what happened at the building and tears were bursting out while they were talking about it. Five people were taken to hospital, three were taken to emergency crews and one of the persons was really in critical condition.
Evans said that it was enormous and tragic. Evans said, while firefighters were using their tools and hands to dig through the debris. Many heavy equipment was brought in the premises. Firefighters did good job in saving people’s life.
The residents of the building described terrible moments and horrible stories. One woman said debris flew and protected her daughter. Another resident said that he thought of a plane crash in buildings.
All the families living inside the building were desperately searching for their loved ones. One woman, Sylvia visited her friend for lunch but instead found a terrible smoke and fire flames coming out of building. She tried to call her friend but got no response.
Many nearby residents were terrified of the incident, but they were safely evacuated, temporary arrangements for their accommodation were made for them.

The building reportedly passed the inspection test that happened in 2023 with no significant issues detected earlier.
