Delhi Police informed a court on Friday that the violent Gen Z movement in Nepal, which overthrew the country’s government, served as inspiration for Youth Congress members who staged a shirtless protest against the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the AI Summit in New Delhi.

The rally, which happened during a high-profile meeting attended by internet moguls and world leaders, was the subject of a bigger conspiracy, according to officials.

The Gen Z protests in Nepal served as inspiration for this broader plot. Both digital evidence and the accused must be confronted with one another.

While requesting custody of the detained Youth Congress members, the police informed the court that this was a very significant investigation.

Additionally, police stated that a comprehensive investigation into the demonstrators’ finances was necessary, including information on who paid for the T-shirts they wore. The shirts bore messages like Epstein Files, India-US Trade Deal, and PM is compromised.

In a spectacular shirtless protest on Friday, about ten activists from the Congress’s youth wing infiltrated the AI Summit venue and chanted anti-Prime Minister Modi slogans, such as PM is compromised over the India-US trade deal.

The demonstrators were carrying or donning white T-shirts with the aforementioned phrases and pictures of US President Donald Trump and the prime minister.

Four of the demonstrators were later arrested for allegedly interfering with the high-profile international event when security personnel swiftly intervened.

In court, the demonstrators’ attorney contested the police allegations, claiming that the protest was nonviolent and that no one had been injured by the activists. Rather, the attorney claimed that they were beaten.

No video demonstrates that they assaulted any public employee. Conversely, they were severely beaten. The counsel contended that the mandated elements are an effort to serve as a model for other political parties.

A fierce political battle between the Congress and the BJP was sparked by the protest. In front of international delegations and tech titans Sam Altman and Sundar Pichai, BJP officials, including Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Bhupender Yadav, denounced the move as anti-national and charged the Congress with trying to harm India’s reputation abroad.

I have only three words for the Congress: topless, brainless, and shameless, remarked BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.

In response to the Youth Congress’ shirtless protest at Bharat Mandapam, the BJP organized protests against the Congress.

One of the most notable of these took place in New Delhi, close to the grand old party’s headquarters. Along with protests in Jammu, BJP members in Mumbai also organized a black flag protest against Rahul Gandhi.

However, the Congress backed the protest, claiming it reflected the youth’s despair and rage and that it was a valid form of political opposition.

The IYC removed the posters and forced the nation to take note of the cracks in the walls, according to party leader Pawan Khera.

We will continue to raise the voice of the youth, stated Uday Bhanu Chib, national president of the Youth Congress, because peaceful protest is our right in a democracy.

India’s government organized a global artificial intelligence conference called the India AI Impact Summit 2026, which brought together students, researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, technology CEOs, and world leaders from dozens of nations.

The sessions demonstrated India’s AI capabilities through exhibitions and strategic alliances, while also examining how AI can spur economic growth, enhance public services, and encourage responsible innovation.

As part of an international series of AI summits centered on collaboration and the governance of emerging technologies, the event is regarded as one of the biggest AI events held in the Global South.

The Congress, however, denounced the conference as little more than a public relations exercise, specifically pointing to the scandal surrounding a Chinese robot that Galgotias University in Noida was showcasing as their own product.
